C'mon. What's more fun than Lego robots?! AND they connect science and math concepts to the real world.
At MAX, our progressive Robotics curriculum for Grades 1 to 6 lets kids execute projects from start to finish. They will learn basic programming skills and get their creative and engineering skills flowing building robots while mustering strategy, perseverance, and independence.
Robotics sessions run for six weeks and can be completed more than once. There is always something new to build or code the second time around! Single class price: $150. Register for multiple classes or the entire 2021/22 season and save! All classes take place at 34 New Cove Road.
A six-week introductory course for younger robotics enthusiasts in Grade 1 to 3. Using Lego WeDo kits children learn the basics of robot building and programming with extra emphasis on fun and play. No experience required! Children in Kindergarten may register for Primary Robotics if they are able to attend class and follow Lego instructions independently.
For six-weeks WeDo participants in Grades 4 to 6 learn the basics of computer programming and apply their understanding to building Lego WeDo Robots which can complete various challenges. Creations include simple rovers and mechanical contraptions using motion sensors and tilt sensors. No experience is required for this course.
Participants in Grades 4 to 6 learn advanced programming and building skills using Lego Mindstorm kits. Using light, motion, and infrared sensors your kids will navigate robots through obstacle courses and challenges.
It is recommended that Elementary Robotics Wedo courses be completed before advancing to Mindstorms.
